The ‘Chaotic Singles Party’ Might Be The Answer To Your Dating Frustrations

If you’re single and ready to mingle, chances are, you’re on a variety of dating apps or have been in the past. Gotta up your chances, right? According to data from Pew Research Center, 48% of singles between 18 and 29 have used apps along with 38% of those between the ages of 30 and 39. In other words, they’re ridiculously popular. That being said, it’s not all that easy to find someone this way, which is why TikTok user @cassidynashdavis came up with the idea for a “chaotic singles party.” Turns out, she might be onto something.

What the heck is a “chaotic singles party”?

Cassidy Davis was sick of striking out on dating apps.

So, the “actor, producer, writer, and filmmaker” from LA decided it was time to do something a bit different. “I was just like painfully single in LA for the last five years,” she explained on the “First Round’s On Me” podcast. “I was tired of going on really bad dates. I was tired of really awkward first dates, the conversation going nowhere, and just being, like, so uncomfortable. So, I was like, ‘Let’s make dating fun again!'” Thus, the chaotic singles party was born.

On Valentine’s Day 2022, she and her girlfriends decided enough was enough and that they should do something different. “I told them all, ‘Let’s do something crazy. Let’s all invite a random man on a dating app to my house for a party,'” she recalled on “Good Morning America.” The idea took off and became bigger than she ever would have imagined. A bunch of single people fed up with the status quo but still looking to have a good time with some potential romantic prospects? You know it’s gonna get wild.

So, how did it go?

Really well, actually. Cassidy Davis asked nine of her single female friends to invite some of their best dating app matches to the party at her place. Davis herself sent out invites to a whopping 65 men, 40 of whom turned up. “The guys who came were the sweetest, coolest guys ever … For the most part, everyone had that same energy of, like, ‘I’m gonna show up, and I’m gonna do this, and even though it’s a little bit crazy, let’s see what happens,” she shared.

Even better, Davis shared a video of the raucous event on her TikTok page and began racking up millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes. She went on to host 17 more “chaotic singles parties” in 2022 alone and plans to continue doing so despite the fact that she’s no longer looking for love.

So, does the “chaotic single party” idea work?

Given that Cassidy Davis found her boyfriend at the first one she threw, it seems like it does! Getting together dozens of single people in the same room and letting the fun flow organically can work wonders for a single person’s love life. No wonder it became such a roaring success. Maybe we should try throwing our own…
